World’s only full-face snowsports helmet to launch this winter – with some great designs
Ruroc, a global leader in winter sports protection, has announced the official launch of the RG2 helmet – an all-new, re-engineered full-face helmet system using RHEON Technology. The RG2 is the world’s only full-face snowsports helmet, developed over 15 years using feedback from Ruroc’s growing community of riders. It builds on the success of the company’s original RG1 with dramatic advancements in safety, comfort, and performance, setting a new standard for helmet technology in extreme winter sports
Key features include advanced rotational and linear impact protection that dynamically adapts to different impact scenarios, significantly reducing the risk of head injuries. A built-in NFC chip allows riders to store critical medical information, accessible to first responders in case of an emergency. And you can stay connected with up to 15 riders using a mesh network, take calls, and even link with GoPro.
The RG2 weighs in 22% lighter than its predecessor, allowing for greater comfort and agility during long days on the slopes. It has a customisable 360º fit system that adjusts to any head shape, giving you maximum comfort and security.
The magnetic mask system makes putting on and removing the mask effortless – even with gloves on – while offering improved ventilation. And it offers a wider field of view with a 20% increase in peripheral vision, paired with better airflow to reduce fogging and keep visibility clear.
Ruroc says that the RG2 isn’t just an evolution, but a complete re-imagining of what a full-face helmet can be. “Our focus was on building a helmet that exceeds the highest safety standards while maintaining rider comfort and enhancing performance,” said Tom Savage, head of engineering at Ruroc. “The RG2 is lighter, smarter, and more intuitive to use – it’s truly a game-changer.”
The RG2 is the result of direct feedback from Ruroc’s thriving snow community, pro athletes, and retailers. “It’s been designed to exceed expectations on the slopes, offering superior safety, comfort, and style,” said Hollie Weatherstone, head of brand at Ruroc.
There are plenty of design choices to choose from as well. Marvel comic lovers will appreciate the Deadpool design, while those more swayed by the ‘dark side’ will be excited by the Darth Vader style helmet.
Alongside the RG2, Ruroc is expanding its Lite series, known for its open-face design and freestyle performance, with the introduction of the Lite+ and Lite Carbon models. These helmets continue to push the boundaries of safety and performance, offering more choices for riders who want to stand out on the slopes.
Whether you’re an all-mountain enthusiast or a freestyle rider, Ruroc believes it has crafted helmets that combine the latest in safety technology with the style and comfort every rider needs.
“The RG2, Lite+, and Lite Carbon embody our mission to deliver the ultimate combination of safety, style, and performance,” said Doug Causer, snow product manager at Ruroc. “These helmets aren’t just about protection – they’re about empowering riders to push their boundaries with confidence.”
Available for pre-order now, the new RG2, Lite+, and Lite Carbon helmets will ship from 4th December 2024, and will be available at ruroc.com and selected retailers worldwide.
