This Lake District holiday park offers underground Hobbit Holes, Gingerbread Houses and a bar

Autumn is a wonderful time to visit The Quiet Site. Set within the heart of Cumbria’s Lake District National Park, The Quiet Site is an award-winning eco holiday park, consisting of several accommodation options including luxury glamping cabins, timber camping pods, underground Hobbit Holes and carbon positive Gingerbread Houses, as well as all-weather tent pitches and hard standing pitches for caravans and motorhomes.

Occupying a magnificent position overlooking Ullswater, the second largest lake in the Lake District. The site is a great choice for those that want the camping experience while exploring this stunning part of the world at one of the most picturesque times of year, without the crowds of peak season.

There are a number of walks that can be started from, or near, The Quiet Site. These include the 20 mile circular Ullswater Way Walk, the walk to Aira Force Waterfalls during which you can enjoy fantastic views of Ullswater, or the Helton to Askham walk which ranges from open fells with mountain views to riverside tracks through pleasant woodlands.

Back at The Quiet Site, kick off your hiking boots and sit back and enjoy the spectacular views offered from many of the accommodations. The Quiet Bar is open from 4pm to 10pm daily and offers a wide selection of beers including ales brewed at the local Tirril Brewery and locally distilled spirits. Guests can enjoy live music here at the weekends.

There is also an on-site eatery The Quiet Bite, which serves coffee, crepes and pizzas in a sustainable way with no waste.
